In honor of the Fourth of July holiday, we are looking at all things red, white and blue in this month’s Fashion vs. Interiors Trends. Although these patriotic colors are typically reserved for either the Fourth of July or Memorial Day, there are so many ways to incorporate them into your home and wardrobe all year long. These colors create a classic feel and add a bit of warmth to both your outfits and interiors. There is something crisp and clean feeling about using whites and blues together… And adding in a bit of red can play up any look with a fun, bold touch! One great way to explore this traditional color scheme is through pattern. We like to use pattern whenever we can… plaids, stripes, florals, we love them all! Using patterns in mixtures of red, white and blue can create a sophisticated look to a space/outfit. When exploring color, we prefer to use it in small doses to create just the right amount of contrast. Keep in mind that reds will always dominate a color scheme. When designing an interior space, we prefer to start with a white neutral background and layer in colors and textures throughout. We love using blues as one of our strong accent colors, while keeping red to a minimum with the smaller details. For a fun twist, play with different hues of blues or reds within a space to add visual texture and a subtle change to your color palette. We hope you all enjoy your July 4th holiday and that this post inspires you to incorporate some patriotism into your home all year long!
