We LOVE to use brass as often as we can – it just may be our favorite metal! Brass is always a great way to add warmth and visual interest to a space. You can either keep it subtle by accenting with decorative objects that don’t require a great deal of commitment, or you can be more daring and make it the focal point of a room. There are several different ways to use brass throughout your home, and here are a few of our favorite!
Entryway and Foyer:
When it comes to an entryway, you can never go wrong with brass door hardware. This helps to create both a welcoming and beautiful entryway – one that guests will without a doubt admire. Sometimes it’s exciting to go a step further with brass in your foyer and use it in a more pronounced way. How amazing are the details of the brass banister shown above??
Kitchen and Dining Room:
One of our absolute favorite places to use brass in a home is in the kitchen or dining room. Kitchens are always the heart of a home—a place where everyone gathers. Brass adds a tasteful touch of warmth that is needed to complete the space. A great way to bring brass into a kitchen or dining room is with cabinet hardware, plumbing fixtures and you can never go wrong with a beautiful brass light fixture!
Living Room and Bedroom:
The best way to bring brass into a bedroom or living room is with light fixtures or furniture pieces. Using a brass coffee table or bed will definitely make a statement in a room, which can be a fun touch. Accenting with light fixtures is an easier way to incorporate brass into these rooms, adding a softer glow without going all-out.
Of course we can’t forget bathrooms. Using a few brass touches in a bathroom creates a more luxurious feel. Whether it’s through plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware or other accents there is a place for brass in every bathroom. We personally prefer the un-lacquered and satin brass finishes over the polished options. These finishes are a bit richer and mix well with other metals you may already have in your home.
